As a Christian school, God's Word is the foundation for all of student life at Montrose Christian Montessori School (MCMS). Bible study, scripture memory, and practical application of biblical principles are all key to a student's growth.

Children love our Montessori education because it is an audial, visual and kinesthetic method of learning. Our school employs the Montessori method of education, based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori. The program is an individually-based curriculum that allows each student to progress at a pace that challenges him or her. Some Montessori schools pride themselves in being "paperless", but we do not. We believe paperwork can reinforce the learning stages and permits parents to enter the process, as well.

Additionally, students at MCMS will experience a well-rounded education that includes art, sports, foreign language, and Bible classes; as well as chapels, Meet the Masters, and manners classes.  Optional extra curricular classes, such as gymnastics, art, music, and other foreign languages, may also be available to help the growth of our students. Upper elementary students may be elected for voluntary experiences on the Student Council.

Our History

Founded in 1985, Montrose Christian Montessori School has a rich history. Formerly residential and commercial buildings, MCMS has blossomed into a comfortable, secure, and beautiful setting nestled within the Crescenta Valley at the west end of the Montrose Shopping Park. Over the years the school has grown and now serves students as young as two years old and up through the sixth grade. MCMS underwent new ownership by Montrose Christian School, Inc. by the members of the Christian community and their associates in 2009.

Our Core Values

Our core values are birthed through the outflow of the life and teachings of Christ Jesus, as revealed in the Bible. Safety, structure, integrity, compassion, relationship, respect, and collaboration (over competition) are core values of our school. These values, as with all values taught in the Bible, can be summed up with one word: love. "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31b). In other words, treat others the way you want to be treated. This is our aim, to help children grow into more loving people.

Our Mission

We believe that God has a plan for every child entrusted to our school. To fulfill that plan, God has placed in every child the gifts and skills needed to fulfill His purpose for their life. Our Montessori philosophy mission is to help every child discover the gifts and skills that God has placed within them. It is our desire at Montrose Christian Montessori School to partner with parents in providing their children with a distinctively biblical and academically excellent education that will equip students to be godly leaders and to successfully engage the culture of Christ.

Our Vision

The vision of Montrose Christian Montessori School is to be a God-infused environment with the best education possible for each and every child, inside welcoming classrooms with dedicated teachers.
